2011 St. Isidore’s Cabrini Pilgrimage
August 19th-20th, 2011
For the Kingship of Christ and the
Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Dear pilgrims,
Come join us, and our beloved Benedictine Monks, for a 50 mile pilgrimage.
We walk from the St. Isidore Catholic Church,
located in the plains of Watkins, CO, to the shrine of Mother Frances Cabrini,
located in the foothills of Golden, CO.  This spiritual journey takes place over a 2
day period and begins and ends with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
During the pilgrimage itself, the faithful will have the opportunity for
confessions, spiritual direction, meditations, group rosary, and much more.

With my priestly blessings,
Father Dennis McDonald

What is a
Pilgrimage?

Throughout the centuries, faithful pilgrims have traveled to Catholic religious sites to pray at the tombs of the saints, to venerate holy relics, to fulfill a pious promise, to embark on a Catholic pilgrimage, or simply to achieve a greater knowledge and appreciation for their Faith. Pilgrims walk, meditate, say prayers, rosaries, sing hymns, and have access to spiritual counseling and confession along the way.

Why should I participate?

Almost everyone has a personal reason for going on a pilgrimage. Some hope to receive special spiritual graces, others a bodily cure; some have petitions to present, while others wish to thank God for an answered prayer. Pilgrimages are a time for sanctifying the soul and growing closer to God, and are often made as act of penance and reparation. A Catholic group traveler benefits from the spiritual guidance of the priest, common prayer, the sharing of experiences, and spiritual joys.

How can I participate?

Participation can include walking any portion of the pilgrimage, driving a support vehicle or making a donation.

Who is Mother Cabrini?

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Foundress (1850-1917)

Dear to the hearts of American Catholics in many regions of the United States, Saint Frances Cabrini, Foundress of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, patroness of immigrants, was the first citizen of the United States to be canonized. Founding schools, hospitals and charitable works of every kind, she would cross the ocean thirty times, bringing bands of young Italian Sisters to North and South America.
